1. Social Studies 9 Course Outline - Mr. Amundsen September 2001
Social Studies 9 will reinforce geographic concepts taught in S.S. 8. It will also examine a selected number of historical topics. Canadian Studies- First Nations and Canadian political and economic history to 1763 will be taught. Nation building, (Germany and Italy) growth of democratic institutions, changing role of the British Monarchy, the dynamic changes of the French Revolution; Imperialism -Asia (Hong Kong) & Africa (South Africa) and the changing role of women in the 19th C are major sections of this course.
